AFL Western District regrets to advise that Rod Ward has tendered his resignation from his position as the Regional General Manager of AFL Goldfields and from his role as our Part Time Regional General Manger.

Rod has done a great job in his interim position as the Regional General Manager for AFL Western District and built professional and courteous relationships with all of our stakeholders.

After 17 plus years in country football administration Rod will finish on September 13. Mr Ward said, “I will be leaving my role extremely grateful for the friendships I have formed and for the opportunities that the position has given me both professionally and personally”.

The AFL Western District Commission and AFL Victoria are currently advertising for a full time Operations and Commercial Manager based in Warrnambool.

This position will replace Rod’s role in the region and head the Commission and RAC operations in the Western District.

Chairman of the AFL Western District Commission, Mr Gerard Lucas said, “The Commissioners and staff at AFL WD are disappointed to lose a very experienced
administrator and we thank Rod for wonderful contribution and support over his short stay with us”.

Rod has been appointed as the General Manager of the Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club and starts his new role on Monday 7th October 2019.
