Locals compete in state’s first online skate and scooter competition
The Moyne and Colac contingents of youth development program FReeZa have joined forces to facilitate the Victorian Rumble, the state’s first online skate based competition and the Barwon Southwest Scooter Championships.
Held across the month of September the joint initiative encourages young people in the region to remain active, healthy and working on their skate skills all while adhering to social distancing guidelines.
Competitors are required to film and perform tricks in their own backyards, driveways, garages and enter their videos through the online competition platform Clippero.
Moyne Shire Council Mayor Daniel Meade said that the competition is a great opportunity for local skaters to get creative and have fun at home.
“From constructing their own ramps to performing tricks without equipment, there is no shortage of skill and ingenuity amongst the young skaters in the region,” said Cr Meade.
