Warrnambool Police have removed an alleged drink driver from the roads overnight, who returned an evidentiary breath test of more than 4 times the legal blood alcohol limit.

An evidentiary breath test from the driver then returned a result of 0.212.

"It's really disturbing behavior that someone thinks it's okay to get behind the wheel of a car at .212" said Acting Senior Sergeant Dean Greenwood.

"Not only are they putting themselves at danger, they're putting other road users at danger of serious injury or death"

"At that reading, it's not just a glass of wine or a couple of beers thinking I should be okay to drive, that level is drunk".

Acting Senior Sergeant Greenwood praised the work of the officers, who were patrolling rural roads at the time of the vehicle intercept.

The driver received a summons to appear at court at a later date.
