Emerging Leaders Program

Applications Open For Regions Emerging Leaders

Year 11 students in the Warrnambool, Moyne and Corangamite areas, have been encouraged to apply for the South West Emerging Leaders Program for 2020.

Formerly known as the Future Leaders Of Industry, the program has been restructured as it enters it's third year.

Program Co-ordinator Karen Foster, says like most they've adapted their process due to covid-19, to ensure the program addresses the situation facing the regions youth.

"The program really could have fallen victim to the pandemic, but we felt here's a great opportunity to demonstrate genuine leadership, let's just rebuild the program, restructure it and make it relevant to young people" Ms Foster said.

"They're having a really tough year this year there's a lot of pressure on people in year 11 and 12, so we've really thought about that deeply and carefully"

"We think we've created a program that's really exciting and accessible for young people, and it's something they will be able to easily fit in with their lifestyle"

"The program has a real emphasis on emerging industries, things like hydrogen and other renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, indigenous cultural tourism, those sorts of things"

An online application form can be accessed on request, by messaging the South West Emerging Leaders Facebook Page.

Applications are due in early July, with participation capped at 16 to ensure a personal experience with the program.
