Warrnambool golfing export Marc Leishman has overcome a bulging disc in his back to line up in the US PGA which starts Friday morning Australian time.

Marc says its the fourth time he's had a bulging disc over the past 4 years but he's feeling fit for the US PGA.

The number 23 ranked player in the world says the Bethpage course in New York is the toughest course he's played on.

He says it's long and hard, the rough is long, and everything about the course is challenging.

Hitting the fairways is crucial says Marc if you going to have any chance of playing on the final day.

The US PGA has a prize purse of $US11 million, with the winner receiving $US1.98 million.

Australian's in the field include Jason Day, Marc Leishman, Adam Scott, Cameron Smith, Lucas Herbert, Brendan Jones, Stuart Deane and Craig Hocknull.
