League releases scenarios for weekend's competitions pending government advice

The Hampden Football Netball League (HFNL) have released a pair of scenarios for the coming weekend, as they await news from the State Government relating to restrictions easing enough to allow senior competitions.

The League say they were delighted to see some Junior Football and Netball return on Sunday, and thanked all member clubs for navigating restrictions to ensure a safe environment.

Heading into this weekend's competitions (12 & 13 June) the league has advised two different scenarios depending on COVID-19 restrictions, to give time to prepare accordingly.

Scenario 1 (current restrictions remain) would see Saturday junior competitions including Under 18.5 Football, 17 & Under Netball, 17 & Under Reserves Netball, 15 & Under Netball and 13 & Under Netball proceed, with round 18 of the current HFNL Senior Draw played.

All Sunday Competitions would also proceed with Round 10 fixtures on the current Sunday draw.

Under Scenario 2 (restrictions further eased to allow senior competition), all Saturday competitions will proceed, with round 9 fixtures of the current HFNL draw to be played.

Again, all Sunday Competitions would proceed with Round 10 fixtures on the current Sunday draw.

The League has acknowledged that COVID-19 challenges will remain in place for some time and are focused providing clarity in the short term for all HFNL competitions.

The HFNL will continue discussions over the coming weeks and will make further announcements once there is better clarity about COVID restrictions.

The scheduled bye on the weekend of 3 & 4 July will remain in place, regardless of future fixture alterations.
