Dea Evans might not be a mother but as ambassador for the 2019 Warrnambool Mother's Day Classic she hopes to raise awareness of the impacts of infertility.
"I hope that other young women won't have to suffer like I do with being infertile," Dea says.
Leading the walk around the Warrnambool foreshore was an emotional time for the 35-year-old Warrnambool woman, who was diagnosed
with breast cancer four years ago.
Dea has taken part in the walk twice before, once with her breast cancer support nurse and once with a fellow patient.
"It's an honour and I'm a bit overwhelmed at being named ambassador," she said.
"I hadn't thought of it because I'm not a mother but I'm doing it for mums and in the hope that other women don't have to be like me and not have
the chance to have kids."
