Cr Daniel Meade will continue as Mayor of the Moyne Shire for the upcoming 12 months, following a meeting of council this afternoon.

He thanked his fellow councillors for their support, saying he looked forward to continuing in the role.

"Just like to thank councillors for their support in my nomination, and support to fulfill this role for the next 12 months, I'll make sure I do the best to repay the faith shown in me" he said.

"I look forward to the next 12 months in serving as Mayor of the great Shire of Moyne, as part of a collaborative team, as the shire looks ahead to the Covid recovery".

His deputy will be Cr James Purcell, who himself is a former mayor of the shire, thanked his fellow councillors for the opportunity.

"From my point of view, I look forward to the upcoming year, we have a number of issues that any council will have, I look forward to working with the Mayor and the Council through those issues for the people of the shire". he said.
