The South West Region Digs Deep To Give MND The Cold Shoulder

Organisers of the South West's Big Freeze are in celebration mode after the success of Saturday's event.

The South West's Big Freeze was again held at Cobden Recreation Reserve in sunny conditions with the ten participating sliders dressed up in costumes from Jon Snow to a Hampden League netballer

In the second year the event has run, over $34,000 has been raised as ten silders took the plunge into over 1000 kilograms of ice and water to raise money and awareness for the fight against Motor Neuron Disease.

Lachlan Rooke, one of the sliders, says he was honoured to be asked to take the icy plunge.

"It was great to be part of such an event and raising money to fight Motor Neuron Disease."
