A Three Year Build

Community engagement will be an important component of developing plans for Warrnambool's new learning and library hub to be based at South West Tafe.

South West Tafe C.E.O Mark Fidge says the first step is to engage with the community and stakeholders over the next 12 months.

He says then the physical build will start with the new facility expected to be completed within 3 years.

The new 20 million dollar library facility is a joint venture between South West Tafe, Warrnambool City Council. and the State Government.

Victoria's Department of Education and Training has pledged 16.3 million dollars to the project, Warrnambool city council 3.12 million Dollars, and South West Tafe 830 thousand dollars.

Victorian Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney visited Warrnambool's South West TAFE recently to launch the start of the new library project for the city of Warrnambool.

South West Tafe C.E.O Mark Fidge says it will be built on the Tafe precinct but it will certainly be a community centre.

He says it's an exciting project for Warrnambool.
